We live in a society where taking about death and dying is “shy-ed” away from, grieving is something that should be done in private, and should only take about three days (that is what most employers give their employees for bereavement time).
However, if you have ever lost someone close to you, then you have experienced how intense the pain can be when someone dies. You would also have learned that grieving is a life long journey that you learn to integrate into your daily living.
Here at Serenity HospiceCare, we not only give you, your family, and your loved one exceptional care at the end of life, we also provide bereavement services after your loved has passed away.
No two people grieve the same way, we tailor our program to your specific needs.
Our bereavement specialist will come to your home, discuss and assess how we may best serve you and your family’s needs. We offer a variety of services. Some family’s wish to have weekly, bi-weekly or monthly counseling sessions. Others choose to attend support groups to be around others who understand what they are going through.
We also offer an annual memorial service which is a way for people to come together and heal. We are the only hospice that offers a children’s support group, Carter’s Clubhouse. Carter’s Clubhouse meets monthly and is for any child in the community, ages 4-18, who has suffered a loss. This program is free and gives kids the opportunity to work through their grief and process their feelings while participating in fun activities. They get to be with other children who understand what they are going through.
